Ranked

Introduction

Plonk It Ranked is an alternative to GeoGuessr's Competitive mode with its own Elo system, letting you compete against other community members on multiple maps and settings. Our Discord bots will handle everything for you: matchmaking, finding opponents close to your skill level, creating a party or a challenge link, and computing Elo changes.

Ranked was first introduced by Kommu with the 1v1 mode. In late September 2022, it was re-launched on Plonk It and has been improved with multiple new game modes and features by the Plonk It Team ever since.

To register, send your GeoGuessr profile link to @GeoGuessr Ranked Bot.

Rankings

RANKING SYSTEM

Every player starts with a rating of 1200. The number of points you gain or lose depends on your opponent's rating, as well as the difference between your scores. The matchmaking system will always try to match you with a similarly rated opponents.

Soft Reset System

Your rating will reset by 25% each week.

Example:

  • Your current rating: 1300 -> Week 1: 1275 -> Week 2: 1256 ...

  • Your current rating: 1100 -> Week 1: 1125 -> Week 2: 1144 ...

    (Without playing in this period)

  • !info to see the games played and average points lost or won by a country

  • !info2 to see get graph of your rating, rating difference and win/loss history

  • !winrate to get a list of your winrate on each mode and map

Rules

It is prohibited to use any external assistance or cheats that will give you an advantage in the game. If you do so, you will be permanently banned from Ranked, unless you pass the skill test after your appeal.

Special rule for Googling: Googling once will result in a one week ban. Googling twice will result in a permanent ban.

Playing with an alternate account is prohibited and will result in a permanent ban.

There shouldn't be any black screens in the challenges. If you still get one, make sure to refresh and send Eiffel Tower if nothing happens. You won't need to take any special actions on Gen 1, aris and photospheres, just guess based on what you see.
